Wide-leg jeans are the backbone of the Late Set. The After Hours Wide-Leg Jeans sit high on the waist and fall long and full, pooling over your shoes. They look relaxed, but proportion matters. Here are three ways we style them.
1. Boxy on top
A wide leg needs a confident top half. Pair the jeans with the Halftone Boxy Tee, tucked loosely at the front or left out, and keep the shoulders dropped. The square cut of the tee and the volume of the leg balance each other, and the black-on-black keeps it clean enough for any room.
2. Double denim, done properly
Wearing denim on denim works best when the washes match. The Side Door Denim Jacket is cut from the same faded black denim with the same gold topstitching, so the two read as a set rather than a clash. Add a white or ecru tee underneath to break it up.
3. Layer for the cold
On cooler nights, swap the jacket for the Load-In Check Overshirt worn open over a hoodie. The heavier layers on top give the wide leg something to answer to, and the check adds pattern to an otherwise dark outfit.
Getting the length right
A wide leg should break over the shoe, not drag on the floor. If you are between lengths, wear them with a chunkier boot or trainer, or take them to a tailor for a simple hem. Keep the original hem if you can; the faded edge is part of the look.
Care
Wash denim rarely, cold and inside out. It will soften and fade at its own pace, and the gold stitching will stand out more as the black wash settles.
